Welcome to 'ten Bosch Designs!
My name is
Bernadette M. A Bos, and I started "Atelier 'ten Bosch," as I call it
myself, out of a passion for architecture and the decorative arts. This passion
began at an early age, watching my father, who was a professional painter
"of-the-old-school" in Holland, mix linseed oil and color pigments and other
"curious additives" in his studio. Since then, sketching and drawing took up
most of my free time while growing up, and I subsequently enrolled in one of
Holland's prestigious art colleges after graduating from high school.
But a second passion got the better of me, and instead of attending art college,
I spent the next 25 years training competition horses around the world. Living
in different countries was great exposure to their cultures, architecture, and
works of art. This greatly influences my design philosophies, and often serves
as inspiration, with the result that projects vary greatly in style and
execution. Traveling and living abroad has also allowed me to gather an
impressive selection of reference materials.
As I am a designer as well, I combine the practice of interior design with the
art of decorative finishes. This enables me to create an environment from
concept to finish, attending to the clients' personal requirements and ideas
combined with my artistic experience, create designs that are custom and unique.
After an initial consultation with a client, I create one or more sample boards,
or design outlay, to be approved before starting work.
Please check out the gallery which shows some of my work. Thank you.
